Hi everyone! Yes it's been awhile and I hope to improve on our travel updates as times goes on. Here we are in April and the seasons seem to pass so quickly. Can you believe it's Spring? Can time just slow
 down a little?

We were in Conway SC for three months for the winter. We had a nice time and really enjoyed the area there. About 15 min's from Myrtle  Beach. The resort we stayed at had a lot to offer.(Caroline Pines RV Resort) If you want to check this place out be sure to check out our You Tube video. While there we were able to hang out with some great people. Chris & Frank, Michelle & Tom, and Joyce & Mark were all very patient with us as we played putt putt, bowling and pool with them. Made it so nice to get to know people and enjoy their company. We also had some great neighbors Beth & Bob who we really enjoyed visiting with. They were also there for 3 months.

During the months of Jan. & Feb. it was not very busy at the resort but it seemed that when March rolled around the place became very busy with a lot of RV'ers. Our spot on the corner was a little interesting. Got to see all the RV's come in which Tom liked. Spring break was happening in March so the place filled up quickly. This lasted all the way to when we left.

We did get to go to Patriots Point in Charleston SC and visit a couple ships there. So much fun and hopefully next time we can visit more of Charleston.

We got to take our granddaughter to the beach. She had never seen the beach and so what a treat it was for her. She loved it! We also ventured out to go cart racing one night that was a lot of fun. There really is so much to see in and do in the area there. We found a beautiful beach there called Huntington Beach. So pretty and things to see there. We did see some alligators which was a little scary with the way they were watching us. And knowing how fast they can run makes one nervous.

Since Florida wasn't too far away (8 hrs lol) we decided to go see my cousin in Summerfield Fl. We did not take the RV but stayed with them which was so nice. My cousin Jan and his wife Ann were so  much fun to hang out with. We all seem to have this family bond which I love. It was a nice break away too for us from where we were. We are actually looking at a campground for next winter which is close to them. :)

We ended up taking a trip back to MD for Dr's appts and see our family! We really miss them all. Being away from our cute grandchildren is not easy but we do try to see each other often through Zoom or facetime. We also got to see some friends of ours which was fun and house sit for our friends Calvin & Sharon. We appreciate their kindness in letting us stay with them. We stayed one extra day to see them when they came home. We did have two days of ice so that kept us inside and took us away from doing other things.

We left for North Carolina the first week of April. Time to move on and we were ancy. We headed to Tanglewood Campground in Clemmons. We have been here before and it's one of our favorite places to go. Nice trails to walk and if you like to ride your bike hard they have some crazy trails here. We were able to visit with our daughter and granddaughter. That was so nice. Always hard to say goodbye though.

We did get our Covid vaccine while we are here. So we are fully vaccinated. I did have side effects from BOTH shots. Crazy huh? But it's done and I'm glad to do it.

One of the things I love about full timing are the people we meet along the way. What a treat it is to us to meet these great people along RVenture!

Our time here at Tanglewood is coming to an end. We are heading to Ashevile NC tomorrow for a week, staying at Powhatten Recreation Campground. Can't wait and from there we head to TN for two weeks with our good friends Frank & Chris. Looking forward to that trip.

I know things are still crazy with the Covid, so I hope you and your family are well. This year has to be better. It's so much better then this time last year, right?

Until next time take care and we will see you around the campfire!

Hello and Happy New Year! Yes, it's been some time since I caught up on my blog. There has been so much going on and I'll try to catch up the best I can without boring you and making this too long.

We had a great summer and enjoyed all the traveling we got to do. We traveled all over the midwest. We were able to visit family & friends along the way. Here are just a few clips.
Great visit with our neice Sherri & her husband David, and Tom's dad's wife Dee.

Tom was able to visit his dads grave site while in IL.

Our good friends Joan & Joel. We have been friends for 42 yrs!
We visitd with the Grow family. Molly was one of the youth from the youth group in Md. All grown up now and has a family!
The Anderson family! Great friends in Md. Now living in Ohio!

While in the Cuyahoga Valley we did a lot of bike riding on some trails. We also went hiking at the "Ledges", a beautiful hike that takes you thru some beautiful rock formations. If you ever get up in that area I would recommend you checking it out.

We also found some beautiful waterfalls. Would love to have swam in them but it was a long way down there. Too much for me.

We found a cute donut shop that sold these tiny donuts. "Peace, Love & Little Donuts". So yummy!

The next day which was Labor Day weekend we decided to ride one last trail. We were on our electric bikes that day. We had gotten about 2 miles in of a 20 mile bike ride and I took a spill on my bike. I won't go too much in to the fall but I ended up breaking both of my wrists. I was very lucky to have an EMT that just happen to ride by right after my fall and he helped Tom take care of me until the ambulance got there. I think I was in shock for most of the day. I really felt stupid too for making such a mistake. I am clumsy but this was over the top clumsy. Anyway, with both wrists in splints I was pretty miserable. Tom was so patient with me and had to do everything. Needless to say we cut our vacation short one day and drove straight home to Md. I just wanted to get back and see my ortho dr and get going on what was going to happen, which ended up having surgery on both wrists. Fast forward 18 weeks later I am doing better. I had PT and continue doing my exercises. And I can't express how much my sweet husband did for me as I suffered thru all this. He was amazing and I'm forever grateful for his love and patience. Also many family and friends helped with meals & just encouraging notes to keep me going, which Tom & I really appreciated. So a big thank you to everyone for checking on us. This was the picture we took just about an hr before my accident. By the way my shirt says,' Today is Someday"! It certaninly was!

In Sept. we were able to stay at Solomon's Rec Center. We also traveled to Williamsburg Va. and Luray Va. It was nice to go there for recovery just to be away. Driving thru the Shenandoah Mountains that time of the year was so pretty! Outlanders Campground is so nice and love the peace and quiet there. We also visited a local museum called "Cooters" from the Dukes of Hazard. Such a fun place and it's free!
(We were suppose to be at a RV Rally we really wanted to attend in TN but we had to cancel that due to me breaking my wrists.)

In Oct. we were able to meet up with our FMT group, Friendly Md Travelers, in PA. It was so good to see them for the weekend. We had a great time. We also went to BethPage in Urbana Va. for a campout with friends for Halloween. It was nice to be with everyone but I don't think we will return to this particular campground again.
The leaves were changing in PA and they were so pretty at the campground!
Took a train ride in PA. So much fun!
Our friends that were with us on the train ride!

We had a lot of fun with our family for Halloween. Toms chili for dinner and a hayride around the neighborhood to go trick or treating with the grandkids. Love this time with all of them.

We decided to stay in Md. for the holidays. We did make another trip with our camping group to American Heritage campground in Williamsburg in Nov. We had a good time and probably our last one with the group for awhile.

It had been awhile so we had the grandkids over for a sleepover. So much fun and they love being in the camper with us! Hot cocoa, popcorn and a movie! We were missing Aubrey & Mitchell!

We had a very nice, but quiet Thanksgiving. A big part of our family was not there and you sure could tell. But with Covid things are just a little different now. It will be a long time until it's normal again.

I continued on with my PT for my wrists and did pretty good. We had to decide what to do with our electric bikes since I'm not sure I can ever get on them again. I think we will sell them. :(

We celebrated our grandson Liam's birthday early Dec. He turned 9! Hard to believe. Love them all so much!

December came and we had everything wrapped and ready for Christmas. We took all the gifts to our kids homes before the holiday. It's a good thing we did. I love Christmas and was so excited Meagan & Aubrey would be up the 26th. We always celebrate Aubrey's birthday with all her cousins and just have a great time. Plus I like the "mother & daughter" time Meagan and I get together. But all that changed right before Christmas when Tom & I found out we both had Covid. We were so upset. So much changed in that moment. It was hard having to cancel EVERYTHING for Christmas and it wasn't even the same. Just felt like another day. We have no idea where we got it from and we are very careful in everything we do. All we know is someone else was not careful and we got the results of that. We did our 14-16 days quaranteen and are all better now. It was not easy having Covid, and I wouldn't want it again. We have decided to get the vacine when it's our time. I wouldn't want to go thru that again. We are thankful we are ok. And our prayers go to those that aren't so lucky.

So here we are at the end of 2020! I am so glad that we are starting a new year. Here's to another year that's going to be great! We have so much planned for 2021. I'm so excited to travel again. We plan to be very careful and still keep our distance. We hope you will follow along with us as we go West! :)

We wish you a wonderful New Year! Please be safe and take precautions. We hope to see many of you along our travels this upcoming year. Thanks for following along with us.

Love, Tom & Beth

Hi everyone! It's been some time since I posted on our blog and so much has been happening in our adventures. We have continued on the road and are enjoying it so much.

On June 1st we left Solomon's Md. to start out again after staying put for 12 weeks. We are thankful that we had this place to stay during the first stages of the virus. Our plans are to head to MS. We started out and stayed a night at a RV campground called, Ft Chiswell. It's right off I 81 and very nice. Clean and has a small pool which was closed because of the virus. We found two other Alpines there too so it was nice to chat with them. It's not very often we find the same kind of RV like ours in a campground. If you need an overnighter or just want to visit Wytheville Va it's a great stop.

After a nights rest there we headed to TN.  I love the mountains and could live in this beautiful state. Maybe that's where we will settle down later....who knows. We stayed at Chattanooga TN/North Cleaveland KOA. This was a nice place to stop overnight. The pool was open and the staff were very friendly. We even met another u-tuber who is part of the camp workers there. Our only complaint was the road noise behind our site. Lots of trucks going thru on a small road but we survived and would probably return there but get a different site.

We left TN and started to head to MS.We drove thru GA & AL to get to our campground. Our weather was pretty good, had a little rain in AL. We got to Lake Loundes State Park that day. The campground is beautiful. On the lake and our site we got to see the lake all around us. We were here for two weeks and planned to enjoy each moment of it. When we return we would get closer to the water and bring A LOT more bug spray and more citronella candles lol! But all in all it's a beautiful place. We were mainly there to visit with some friends of ours, Gill & Brad Vaughn. I couldn't wait to see Gill. They were stationed in Md with us and we served together in church. I have not been the best about keeping in touch over all those years since they left. Need to work on that! We spent a lot of time with them and even attended the wedding of their youngest daughter, Jackie. The wedding was outside in a beautiful outdoor chapel. So happy we could be there for that special event. Loved spending a lot of time with Gill and boy did they feed us well. Brad can grill up a mess of food! So yummy! Tom also had to replace the hydraulic cylinder on our RV in the back slide. Thank goodness he could do it and Brad was there to help too!

After two fun weeks with the Vaughns we headed out again. This time we were headed to Clemons NC to Tanglewood Campground. We were excited to see Meg and Aubrey since they were only about an hour from there. The campground is beautiful and one that we will come back to. The pool was closed, due to the virus, but they have walking and biking trails that are paved. They have mountain biking trails too. And you can access it all from the campground. We did go up to Mt. Airy in NC to see where part of where the Andy Griffith show was filmed.  The whole show was based on this town and the surrounding area.  We also explored a mountain called Pilot Mountain. It is so beautiful up there. So if you are in the area check it out.

We did have an issue that we had to deal with and that was the closing of Cheatham Annex Campground in Williamsburg Va. We were suppose to go there for a month and they were still closed due to the Covid! It was driving us all crazy. So after 6 cancellations from them we decided to make other plans.

After two fun weeks in NC we were headed to Va. to Yogi Bear Campground in Glocester Va. We had previously planned to all go as a family to Williamsburg to celebrate the 4th of July. Something we all were looking forward to. Cabins were rented and we had our camp site all taken care of. But like I mentioned before, the place never opened due to the virus and so things had to change. Tom and I searched all over and all we could find was a cancellation at Yogi Bear. So we took it and went for two weeks. The kids all joined us there. Our son Doug and his family tented there. Our son Travis and his wife Haley, and my daughter Meagan all stayed in a nearby hotel for the weekend. Not what we all really wanted to do but that's all that was left to do. We had a good time there, although no fireworks! :( Second year in a row for us to not see them. Last yr camping in TN the campground there was not the best so we saw no fireworks. This yr due to the virus. Let's hope for next year! Anyway, our kids left after a couple days and we kept the grandkids for the week!! Yes we are crazy.....all 6 of them! But we love them so much and want to do these fun things with them and share in their memories. It was crazy but we had so much fun together. Swimming everyday and eating, watching movies, doing crafts, riding bikes, a lot of ice pops, etc.....When it was time for them all to go home I was sad. I was so use to having them with us each day. I'm so glad we got to do this with them and it will for sure be an every summer thing to do with them as long as we can.

After Yogi Bear we did keep one of our grandchildren with us, Aubrey. She stayed with us for a couple more weeks. We had to take care of some work on our RV in Hampton Va. and then we headed to Luray Va. to stay at Outlanders River Camp with our camping group. I love the mountains so much as I said earlier and Outlanders is right there in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. It was so good to see our friends there and hang out with them for the weekend. We also went to see Tom's mom since she's about an hr away in Winchester, and we also saw Tom's sister Kathleen and brother in law Dwight.

We left Luray and headed to Cozy Acres Campground in Powhatan Va. Such a nice campground and one of our favorites. We were there for a week. We got to swim and have campfires, and Aubrey got to ride her bike. We also saw my sister Debi who lives locally in the area. That was a treat for sure. On to our next place.

We arrived at BethPage Camp Resort in Urbanna Va. Beautiful campground. We had been here before but it had several yrs ago. We were here for a week. We had some friends join us too. The Harts and the Nasmans from Md. came down to see us and camp. It was a lot of fun having them there to camp too. Our good friends Chris & Frank Sweeney are work campers there and so it was a plus for us to see them too and hang out with them when we could. Meagan came and picked up Aubrey that weekend and took her back home but she got to camp with us too. That was nice. We got to swim, cool off in the lake, eat ice cream, play putt putt (the guys won), have cookouts with friends, and watch movies.

I have to say that the days go by so fast. Some days we have to ask each other what day it is? Now that's retirement! While on these trips it's been wonderful to see family and friends. Some whom we haven't seen in years. It's nice to meet other campers whether full or part time. With COVID-19 virus it does take away from some of the fun but we adapting. Wearing face masks and social distancing has become a way of life for us. Many places are still shut down but many have opened too which is good. Some campgrounds you can swim but no water slide use. Some states think masks are needed and some are relaxed on wearing them. This is a crazy time we live in, but we are having fun and enjoying life. We are making the best of what's out there and feel blessed that we can travel and see this beautiful country we live in.

We hope you are well. Please take care of yourself and watch over each other. We will continue on this journey of ours and I'll continue to keep you updated. I'll try not to wait so long until the next blog. Thanks for taking the time to read about our adventure's. Until next time.....Stay safe and keep smiling! :)

Love, Beth & Tom
