We packed up and moved out of the apartment March 15th, and moved over to Solomon's Recreation Center in Solomons Md. (about 15 min's from the apartment) Yay! We are now full timers and ready to get on the road and start what we have been planning for. So excited and so many plans. We are suppose to be here until April 13th, and move on to our next camping place, which was TN. The campground is nice here. We have stayed here before. A lot of full timers and occasionally some weekenders. Very busy in the summertime. Then things changed!
Right after we got here everything went crazy with the world. As we watched what was happening with the COVID19 virus and how things and places were shutting down, we decided we better ask if we could stay longer in case this got worse. We were very blessed to be told they had a spot that was just cancelled and did we want that? Of course we jumped on it and we are now here until May 21st. We really feel this was divine intervention because that happened as we were standing there talking to the lady in the office. We are beyond thankful.
As we watched what was happening around us and in our country we knew our plans were going to change. As time went on our Rally was cancelled in TN. We are very sad about it but know it's for the best. We had a feeling this was going to happen. Luckily the couple who are doing the rally set up another one for Sept. in the same place. We signed up for that one and called the "Ridge Camp Resort" in Pigeon Forge and just moved our reservation to Sept. We were also suppose to be going to "Anchor Down Campground" in Dandridge TN right before the rally for a few days. That too was changed to Sept. but after the rally. We are happy it all worked out and we will see our good friends, Chris & Frank Sweeny at both places as planned before.
So the decision to cancel those trips in April seemed to be easy, because now we can do them several months later. But now we are looking at the rest of the trips. We were suppose to go to Ga. to Stone Mountain the end of April for a week. At this time we have decided to cancel that trip too. Beyond that we just aren't sure what to do.
Life is so different now then it was just a month ago.You make plans and sometimes those plans just don't work out. One thing we are learning is to just be flexible and things will work out. So that's where we are now. This virus in very dangerous and staying put is the right thing to do for now. We are being taught again how to make sure you wash your hands VERY well and when you sneeze to do into your arm so as not to get it on anyone or in the air. We need to be 6 ft away from others when you go out. I've decide that the new word for 2020 is "social distancing." We now have special hours to shop for us "seniors" over 60 since the virus is worse for us. Restaurants have shut down and can only do carryout. Some restaurants are closed until further notice which is so sad. No more close interaction with anyone. Toilet paper is rare and hard to find. Other grocery items are scarce but you sometimes can find them. Just depends on the store. Schools are all shut down and now there is homeschooling! Campgrounds are closing all over the country. We can't even see our family members because no one wants to pass something on since you don't know if you are a carrier. We really miss them but once again it's doing what we have to do. We see daily on TV the President, Donald Trump, giving an update on the virus. And those who are updating him giving their responses too. It's now a normal thing to see each day. This is our new normal for now.

So we are making the best of it here at Solomon's in our camper. We speak to our kids and their families almost everyday. I miss seeing them more then anything else. I am a hugger and I miss all those hugs from them. But then I think about what a good friend of mind reminded me of many times, "we can do hard things"! My friend told me about the Marco Polo app so I use that now too. We take long walks and even go down to the beach to sit and just listen to the quiet.I told Tom that I feel like the world has just stopped and no one knows what to do. We keep our social distancing from those here. Just a wave sometimes! It makes me sad to see people suffering from this virus. I try not to watch the news too much. I like to watch funny movies that make me happy so as not to think about what's really happening. I'm thankful that on Sunday our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, has a lesson for us thru the Zoom app. It's only for an hr but that seems to make my week, besides reading the scriptures with Tom each day. These are things that keep me going and give me the strength to know it all will be ok. Yes, I have had my moments where I've been a mess and wonder why this is happening. I pray a lot and always feel comfort there too. I know things will be ok in time. I can say I worry about Tom or I getting this virus or any of my family members. I think we all do. I just do the best I can with what I've been asked to do.
I hope you are well. I know we all hope this ends soon so we can get back to somewhat of a normal routine. What ever that may be for each of us. Please stay safe, wash your hands and keep that 6 ft distance. It won't last forever. Then we can all sit and visit, hug our family members and think about how we did through this trial in our life.
